United cruised to a three-goal lead against Newport on Tuesday night thanks to a penalty from Lewis Alessandra and a second half brace from Jon Mellish.
The visitors bit back late in the day, with goals from Jamie Devitt and Josh Sheehan, but the Cumbrians deservedly saw it through to that three-point feeling.
