CUSC LONDON BRANCH: 'The Kids are United' event

The Carlisle United Supporters’ Club London Branch will be hosting another virtual event called ‘The Kids Are United’ with a theme of youth development at Carlisle United.

Open to all United fans to attend, the virtual event, at 8pm on Thursday 26 November, will see fans joined by David Wilkes (Head of Academy Coaching) and Robbie Edgar (Foundation Phase Coach) who will talk about the academy and answer questions.

Paul Murray and Matt Jansen, who both started their careers in the youth development system at Carlisle, will also be there to talk about their experiences as youngsters at the club, and their progression to playing at the highest level.

We are asking those that wish to join us to register for the event. Registration for the event is now open.

Contributing to the costs of the academy has always been a priority for the London Branch when deciding how to help the club with any surplus funds it has at its disposal.

As recently as October, the Branch agreed to contribute £2,750 towards the cost of equipment for the home match base at Frenchfields.

The evening will be the latest in a series of virtual events run by the London Branch over recent months, and the second, after the very successful Jon Colman book launch in October, to which all Carlisle United fans are invited to attend.

The Branch has also been running a virtual pub - Hit The Virtual Bar - each match day to bring members together and help its community stay connected during these difficult times.

Looking ahead to the event, Dave Brown, Branch Chair said: “We are looking forward to welcoming all Carlisle fans to our next virtual event. It is fitting that this should be focused on the development of the under-16 youngsters within the club set-up as these lads are the future.”

The virtual ‘The Kids are United’ event will take place on the evening of Thursday 26th November, starting from 8pm, with the waiting room opening from 7.30pm.

The Carlisle United Supporters’ Club London Branch has been the organisation for exiled supporters of Carlisle United since 1974, with members across the UK and indeed the world.

As well as a range of virtual events, members enjoy regular email newsletters, complementary copies of the Branch’s Hit The Bar! fanzine and frequent donations and sponsorships of Carlisle United.

Other benefits, when it is safe to do so again, include an away match ticket deposit scheme and group travel, a season ticket scheme, a Branch football team, regular social events and an annual Summer Trip to a European city.

Membership costs just £20 a season, but new members can currently take advantage of a special rate of just £10 for their first season as a part of the Branch community.
