Tuesday morning saw the Carlisle United Community Sports Trust team up with Richard Rose Central Academy, Riverside Housing and the Manchester United Foundation as they joined forces to lift spirits around the local community.
CST Manager John Halpin said: “All of the groups have an excellent partnership up and running anyway at Richard Rose, with the delivery of a superb programme, and we got our heads together recently to talk about a way that we could help as many kids as possible at what is still a very strange time for everybody.
“We came up with the simple idea of putting some goodie bags together, with personal products, writing pads, pens, highlighters, stress balls and sweets included as part of the package.
“We were able to reach 100 youngsters this morning, and we know that our visit will have had a positive impact on their wellbeing, which is exactly what the aim of the project has been.”
