Carlisle United are delighted to confirm that defender Gethin Jones has signed a second short-term deal with the club which keeps him at Brunton Park until the end of the current campaign.
The Australian-born full back joined the Blues in September and has demonstrated his versatility and adaptability by playing in a number of positions through his 24 appearances for the club.
United boss Chris Beech said: “Like I said last week, Gethin knows my thoughts on him. He’s very professional, he’s consistent, he’s never ill, never injured, he’s adaptable and he’s available.
"He’ll make mistakes but he’s right behind trying to be better, and they’re the sort of people I want to work with. We’ve improved his situation as a reward for his performances in my nine games.
"He’s very versatile and consistent, and they are big factors in why we wanted to keep him here."
Jones, 24, who has represented Wales up to under-21 level, joined the Everton academy at the age of 12 and had loan spells with Plymouth and Barnsley whilst with the Toffees.
He moved to join Fleetwood during the January 2018 transfer window and went on to play 19 games for the Cod Army. A loan move to Mansfield in January 2019 saw him spend the second half of last season with the Stags where he made 17 appearances.
