The under-18 side were back in action at Creighton on Saturday afternoon for the rearranged home fixture with Salford City.
The away side looked strong in the first half and they took a three-goal lead as they showed a ruthless streak.
Carlisle rallied in the second period but Salford squashed any hopes of a comeback with a fourth decisive strike.
Youth boss Eric Kinder said: "I have no complaints about the result because of the way we played.
"Salford used the ball better and our first 45 minutes were poor. The damage was done, but we did start to see better signs after the break.
"It's one for us all to learn from."
