Our Harraby 3G soccer school attendees rounded off another great week with a surprise visit from first team players Josh Dixon and Kelvin Etuhu on Friday afternoon.
The pair popped along to hand out the medals, certificates and prizes as the boys and girls brought a close to their penalty king and World Cup / Champions League competitions.
The week had been hounded by terrible weather, but the youngsters never complained once as they braved the conditions to complete their games.
CST manager John Halpin said: “I say this a lot, but it’s fantastic for the children when the players take time out of their day to come along to meet them.
“The children were all really excited to meet them and a lot of them were in awe when they were getting their medals and certificates.
“I’d like to thank both players for coming to see us and for the way they took time to speak to many of the youngsters who were with us.”
“A lot of the kids were soaked to the skin when we saw them but they didn’t seem too bothered by it,” Josh said. “They’d clearly had a great week and it was nice to hand over the prizes to them at the end of it all.”
“I always enjoy coming to the soccer school,” Kelvin added. “All of the kids clearly love football and I know they like it when we’re there to give them the medals.
“You get to see some familiar faces but they’re all huge football fans and that’s what it’s all about.”
