With it still feeling like the summer transfer window has only just closed, the next batch of activity now looms large with the January transfer window now just over a week away.
And having revealed that defender George Tanner and midfielder Danny Devine now face a longer than anticipated spell on the sidelines, we wondered if this is the kind of thing which switches focus on the positions to be filled and the type of player to be recruited for manager Chris Beech.
“It might do, but I’ve got Taylor Charters and Josh Dixon telling me not to recruit a midfielder because they’re ready,” he said. “I asked them jokingly, and they both told me they’re ready.
“We’ve got Dean Furman who is very experienced waiting in the wings, but it would be nice to always keeping pushing to get added attributes.
“What we have to make sure is that the club is good financially because sometimes that can be difficult. I have to understand that as I try to make sure we keep progressing.
“I’m sure we’ll look to see what’s out there and if we can get something that fits with the finances, and it supports us pushing on, then we’ll be in an even better position if we go out and do it.”
