Carlisle United will face fellow League Two side Oldham Ahtletic at Boundary Park in the first round of this season's Carabao Cup competition.
It's now become something of a tradition for the Cumbrians to be drawn from the hat last, making them the away side, and that was exactly what happened once again as Paul Merson conducted the draw live on Sky Sports News this morning.
United have had some cracking encounters with Oldham over the years, with January's encounter ending in a 1-1 draw after Byron Webster had finished off a slick, flowing move to put the visitors ahead. Jonny Smith bagged the leveller just before the break.
Boss Chris Beech said: "Obviously we're all really looking forward to it because it's a return to competitive football, and that's what all of the work we're doing now is about.
"Having this fixture confirmed, and with the Leasing.com draw coming later, it now starts to give a real focus for the remaining work we have to do through this pre-season period.
"It'll be a good game, Harry [Kewell] will be looking to get off to a positive start, and I will also be looking for our players to set a tone.
"It goes without saying that we wish the fans could be there but, in the absence of that, we'll be going there to represent the values and traits we know they want to see from us."
Ties scheduled to be played over the weekend of 5/6 September 2020.
