It was back to league action for the under-18s on Saturday afternoon with a tough away game in Rochdale next on the agenda.
A stunning second half display saw the young Blues secure a comfortable 6-3 victory with a hat-trick from Taylor Charters complemented by a brace from Jamie Armstrong and a strike from Ethan Henderson.
Youth boss Eric Kinder said: "We were poor in the first half, to be honest. We didn't get ourselves going at all and we almost paid the price for it.
"It was a much better display after the break and we deserved the win in the end. If there's anything the lads need to take from this game it's that they can't allow themselves to play like they did in the first 45 minutes.
"They have to be at it from the first whistle. Credit to them, they took that on board and they can be pleased with how they ended the game."
