MANAGER: We're going there to win

United go into tonight’s Leasing.com away game at Morecambe knowing that it is only a victory in normal time that will see them through to the next stage of the competition.

Speaking about the game, manager Steven Pressley said: “Like all the other games we’ve played in this competition, we’re going out there to win it.

“We’ve approached them all with the intent of winning and our attitude has been excellent towards it. I’ve said that we want to progress, and that has been our aim, even though we’ve changed the team a lot in the previous games.

“We’ll use Tuesday’s game to give minutes to more of the squad. We were using these games to give Jarrad Branthwaite game time, and he’ll still be a consideration for Tuesday, because I think the more experience and more football he plays the better.

“I’d like to give a number of players an opportunity again, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t going there to win. The confidence in the dressing room will be high now and we have to take that into Tuesday night’s game so that we can build on the momentum.”
