Winners of the boardroom experience in the recent CUSC London Branch 40 Club draw took the opportunity to use the Cambridge game to take up their prize, and also to use their invitation into the boardroom to surprise club chairman Andrew Jenkins with a presentation to mark his 60 years with the club.
Branch chairman Ian Jardine spoke on behalf of his members when he said: “As everyone is no doubt aware this month marks a momentous moment for our club chairman and this is why four representatives of the London Branch of the Supporters' Club are here to make this presentation.
“60 years is no mean achievement in any walk of life - we salute you.
“It goes without saying that all London Branch members appreciate the dedication and commitment shown over the last 60 years. But, more than that, you have led the club with an outstanding quality of leadership, a display of integrity, loyalty and honesty that shines as an example for anyone in a position of authority.”
Club chairman Andrew Jenkins said: “The London Branch fans give the club fantastic support year in, year out.
“They have representatives at every away match as they come in numbers to back the team. This is a touching moment for me and I am very pleased to have received this presentation from them.”
