CST: Utilita Kids Cup

The Utilita Kids Cup took place at Soccerworld on Friday, with 21 primary schools and over 150 players involved.

Teams from Robert Ferguson, Warwick Bridge, High Hesket, Belle Vue, Kirkbampton, Hayton, Clifton, Inglewood, Newlaithes, Stanwix, Norman Street, Stoneraise, Longtown, Caldew Lea, Beaconside, Great Corby, Burgh by Sands, St Michaels, Cummersdale and Scotby schools were involved, and it was a very competitive event with some very good football on display.

The group stages were tight, but it was Belle Vue, St Michaels, Warwick Bridge and Stanwix schools who made it to the semi-final stages.

Both of the last four matches were close games, with Belle Vue beating St Michaels 2-1 and Warwick Bridge beating Stanwix 1-0.

The final will be played in the Neil Sports Centre at Brunton Park ahead of the home game against Walsall on Saturday 25 January.

Following the final ahead of the Walsall game, the successful team will then play in the regional finals at Port Vale FC in March against the winners from 11 other northern League Two teams.

The northern winner will then have a fantastic day out at Wembley for the national final, to be played prior to the kick off of the Sky Bet League Two play-off Final.

Well done to both Belle Vue and Warwick Bridge for making it through and good luck to both teams.
