United had the always tough trip to face the Saddlers on Saturday afternoon.
And a strong first half, with goals from Charlie Barnes and Liam Lightfoot, put them in the driving seat as they took their two-goal lead into the break.
"Walsall came back at us after the break, and they got their goal, but credit to the lads for seeing the game out," youth boss Darren Edmondson said.
"We deserved to go in front and it was a good team performance that led to a decent three points."
More details to follow.
