Our Community Sports Trust mental health group went to Middlesbrough last Tuesday to take part in their excellent annual football tournament.
After a shaky start, where the team struggled to find their feet in games against Derby County and the hosts, the group got into their stride and, following an excellent effort, made it through to the Challenge Cup Final against Newcastle United.
In a tight game, the Cumbrian side lost 1-0 with the Magpies holding on to lift the trophy.
Community Sports Trust Manager John Halpin said: "All of the players should be proud of the way they performed, as well as how professionally they represented the football club.
"We had a difficult opening, so to see the group come back and make it to the final was a great achievement.
"Thanks again to Middlesbrough Foundation for hosting a great day."
