#8kforMK: Ticket prices slashed as United look to pack Brunton Park

February brings more important fixtures, as the Cumbrians look to build a push towards promotion back to League One, and we’re targeting our half-term fixture against fellow top of the pile rivals MK Dons for a bumper attendance as we ask for your support at this crucial stage of the season.

We think we can get at least 8,000 fans into the stadium for the visit of Paul Tisdale’s team, and we have a fantastic #8kforMK promotional offer to help us to smash that target and allow you to become part of what is an exciting time for the club.

Cut price ticket entry across all age groups is the order of the day, with huge savings to be made on normal match day prices – and there will be NO price increase on the day of the game!

The Blues made it five home wins in a row on Saturday afternoon when second half goals from Jamie Devitt and Hallam Hope capped off another rousing performance – supported throughout by our very own and very noisy Blue Army.

New boss Steven Pressley was quick to praise the fans for the support at the weekend, as the boys returned to winning ways in what was an excellent atmosphere, and he was quick to throw his backing behind the #8kforMK campaign when we spoke to him this week.

“The welcome I received was unbelievable but, having said that, it’s pretty much what I expected from this group of fans,” he said. “They have a reputation for getting behind their team, but I know we have a responsibility within that to produce the kind of football they want to see.

“We saw at the weekend that they are passionate about their team and they want success. That’s why I think this campaign is fantastic. A full Brunton Park is an intimidating place for the opposition and, if we get 8,000 – hopefully more – it will let us all see what can be achieved if we do this together.

“I’m looking forward to doing the hard work, along with my staff and players, to give us every chance of making this season a successful one. With the MK Dons game falling during a school holiday and, being against one of those teams who are up there with us, it would be magnificent to see a packed Brunton Park cheering us on.”

Your #8kforMK ticket promotion:

United’s director of finance Suzanne Kidd said: “This is more than a ticket promotion, it’s a real desire to see more people come to Brunton Park and, hopefully, once they’ve seen how the team is playing they’ll come back for more.

“We’re in a great position and we’ve seen through this run of victories we’ve had at home what a difference our crowd can make.

“8,000 United fans cheering on their team would be amazing to see. We’re hoping people will get behind this campaign and come along to enjoy the game and witness first-hand the kind of football which has got everyone talking.”

Katie Mitchell, spearheading the #8kforMK campaign from the ticket office, said: “We wanted to do something radical, but also keep our season ticket holders very much at the front of our minds.

“The discounts on offer are equivalent to a half-game saving on our season ticket packages, so we know they’ll be behind us as we look to pack Brunton Park at what is a vital stage of our season.

“With the MK Dons game coming back-to-back with Exeter, and with the children being off school, we’re hoping the #8kforMK ticket pricing structure will help as many fans, families and youngsters to get to this game as possible.

“Everybody is saying how brilliant it would be to see Brunton Park full and bouncing. The manager has talked about the potential he feels this club has, and this could be a real demonstration of that.

“It’s affordable, the team are playing some excellent football and it’s against one of our main rivals – come on everybody ... let’s make it #8kforMK!”
