Scunthorpe head into the weekend game having had a tough start to their League Two campaign, with a draw against Crawley Town their only positive result so far.
Following their relegation from League One last season, they've struggled to settle and will be looking for a quick upturn in form so that they get away from the lower reaches of the division.
Things got off to a tough start, with a 2-0 home reverse at the hands of Swindon, and their first away game the following week was a 4-1 defeat at Cheltenham. The home point against the Red Devils suggested that better was to come, but Macclesfield and Cambridge have both taken the spoils from the last two outings.
The Iron bolstered their ranks with the loan signing of George Miller from Barnsley last week, with the highly-rated front man having bagged 18 goals whilst with Bradford last term.

From the manager
Speaking ahead of the game, Steven Pressley said: "This is another game where we are coming up against a side who will try to play their football at what is a very tight ground.
"They've tightened things up defensively recently and there is no doubt they'll be looking for a turnaround in results as quickly as possible.
"League positions don't mean too much at this stage of the season, other than they show those sides who have found a bit of consistency. That's what both ourselves and Scunthorpe are looking for just now.
"The good thing for us is that we know we aren't too far away. Some of the football we're playing is fantastic, and it's now about eradicating the errors we've been making in our final third and converting the very good chances we're creating into goals.
"It's a game for us to look forward to. We know our fans will be there in numbers again, as they always are, so it's about giving them a positive result and another good performance to cheer."

Is that a fact?
Scunthorpe was close to the epicentre of the 2008 Market Rasen earthquake, the second largest earthquake experienced in the British Isles, which had a magnitude of 5.2.
Significant shocks were felt in Scunthorpe and the surrounding North Lincolnshire area. The main 10-second quake, which struck at 00:56 GMT on 27 February 2008, at a depth of 9.6 mi (15.4 km), was second only to a 1984 quake, with a magnitude of 5.4, which occurred in North Wales.
