United boss Steven Pressley spoke to us about what he thinks will be another tough game as the Blues head to Cleethorpes on Easter Monday.
“I know their manager and he’ll have them as a very organised side,” he said. “They’ll be determined to get a result but we’ll prepare, as we always do, for what we expect will be a tough game.
“At the front of our minds is that we need to build on Friday’s result so that we can claim that elusive play-off place. The players will get a huge psychological lift from what they did because they played so well.
“We kept a clean sheet and we went about our business in the correct manner. It gives us a chance, but we’ve missed so many other chances over the period, and that’s why we can’t take it for granted.
“We’re a very capable team when we get our focus right, and it’s that aspect we need to concentrate on through these remaining three games. The good thing is that we can also take confidence from getting our first clean sheet in a long time, because losing goals has been a real achilles heel for us.”
“Like I say, we’ve given ourselves another opportunity, and we actually said that to the players before the Lincoln game when we saw the Exeter result,” he continued. “We spoke about not letting this one pass us by.
“If we do things right on Monday we could be in the play-offs, and that’s the good thing about this division. We don’t have a huge squad, so we’re limited in changes we can make.
“That means the players need to eat right, drink the right things, rest and look after themselves, because we must be ready to go again for Grimsby.
“I hope we have a few players available, and I also hope that Kelvin Etuhu comes through, because he struggled through the last 15 or 20 minutes on Friday. We’ll just have to wait and see on that.
“Mark Cullen has trained this week but he’s still got a little way to go. We’re pushing him back really early, to be honest with you, and there was a consideration about whether or not to put him on the bench on Friday. Danny Grainger has trained wo, yet again, he’s another where we’ll have to wait and see.”
