United came out on the right side of a seven-goal thriller at Port Vale on Saturday morning as they created chances and scored goals in what was an exciting encounter.
A brace from Belchior Papa was complemented by good strikes from Josh Galloway and Keighran Kerr as the Cumbrians kept the tempo high.
Youth boss Darren Edmondson said: "We were excellent going forward. We scored the goals and we also hit the post on four other occasions.
"The team play leading up to the chances we created was pleasing to watch, and there was a lot for the lads to take from this game.
"Overall we're pleased. Despite the disappointment of conceding we kept our heads up and we got the result by sticking with doing the things we're good at.
"Credit goes to the lads for that."
