The fixtures are coming thick and fast for the Young Blues with their trip to face Bury on Saturday afternoon their second game in the space of just three days.
And they gave as good as they got as they created some good chances in a game that ebbed and flowed with both teams giving it everything to get the result.
Liam McCarron bagged the United goal, but the Shakers scored twice from two of the four clear-cut chances they made in what was a tight affair.
Youth boss Darren Edmondson said: "It was a really good game and very finely balanced.
"The Bury keeper kept them it as we must have had over ten really good opportunities. The lads have a lot to take from it because they kept going and played some good stuff.
"Again you feel disappointed for them because they deserved something from the level of performance they gave on the day."
