The United first team squad have been helped through the searing heat of pre-season training with an influx of one of the country’s top brands of bottled water – Harrogate Spring Water.
United’s kit man Colin Nixon spoke to chairman Andrew Jenkins about the increased requirement for water through what has been an unbelievably prolonged hot spell, with no end to the blistering sunshine in sight, ahead of the return to training and calls were quickly made to help to solve the problem.
Michael Brown, head of buying at Pioneer Foodservice, took up the challenge and he was delighted to report back that a whopping 8,100 litres was heading our way directly from the Original Spa Town.
Mr Jenkins said: “Harrogate Spring Water have helped us out before and they’ve been fantastic with us again this time round.
“Michael [Brown] had good conversations with them and the water was here and ready for the lads when they started pre-season training last week. It will come to good use during the friendly fixtures, as well through the week, and we’re extremely grateful for the quick response.
“I’d like to thank them for helping us again this season, it really is appreciated.”
