Carlisle United have today signed Fleetwood Town striker Ashley Nadesan on a half-season loan deal which keeps him at Brunton Park until the end of the current campaign.
Nadesan, 23, moved to Highbury in the summer of 2016 having played most of his football with Horley Town in the Combined Counties leagues.
He bagged 99 goals in just two seasons for the Surrey-based outfit and was top scorer in the district’s Premier Division with 45 goals during the 2015/16 campaign.
He made his debut for Fleetwood in August 2017 and played in the 2-1 victory over United in the Checkatrade Trophy meeting between the sides earlier this season.
Manager Keith Curle said: “He's a young player we know about and he's one we've seen recently on a number of occasions, both playing against us and when we've had him watched.
"He made the step up when he first joined Fleetwood and he now needs to test himself in a different environment. This is an opportunity to progress for him, and he's caught my eye because I think there's more to come.
"We're looking forward to working with him over the next few months."
Nadesan scored a hat-trick against United when the Blues travelled to the Poolfoot Farm training complex for a friendly in November, and also played the full 90 minutes when the reserve sides met again earlier this week.
