We spoke to match-winner Hallam Hope shortly after full time at Huish Park on Saturday as his goal saw United finish the week with three wins from three outings.

“We’re obviously happy to get three wins this week,” he said. “We just want to try and keep this form going and get on a run until the end of the season.

“The manager has given us a plan in the last three games and we’ve all stuck to it. I think the lads have put in good performances all over the pitch and we just want to keep that going now.

“It’s a good time to come into form and I feel I’ve done that personally as well in the last few games. I just want to help the team and score goals to help us get to where we want to be.

“I don’t mind where I play, to be in the team is the main thing. Wherever the manager thinks I can help the team, then I’ll do it."

“The sort of goal I scored today [Saturday] is the same as the goals I used to score in my youth career," he told us. "I enjoy scoring and I just want to keep it going now. I tried the same thing a few times in the first half but they’d doubled up on me.

"When I had him one against one in the second half I knew what I wanted to do and thankfully it came off. It’s a great feeling because I came here to score goals and help get the team up the table."

“I’d actually already ran off and started celebrating when the second shot hit the post," he admitted. "It was almost exactly the same, but somehow it stayed out.

"I think the rebound fell to Dev [Jamie Devitt] but I didn’t quite see what happened after that."

On the fans who made the trip, he commented: “We know these games are a long way from Carlisle and we appreciate all the fans who come down and support us.

"We just want to give them performances they’re happy with and hopefully the wins against Barnet and Yeovil this week have done that.

“It’s a crucial time of the season now so it’s a good time to get some momentum. We want to try and pick up as many points as we can and push up the table.

“Getting the wins as we have in the last three games does breed confidence within group. The performances have been there and we just want to continue that until the end of the season."

“I’m on ten goals for the season now so I just want to kick on and see how many I can get," he continued. "My first target was double figures and I’m there now.

"I would love to get 20, but I just want to help the team however I can. Whether that’s goals or assists or just putting in a shift, I’ll do it.

“It will be good to get back to Brunton Park on Saturday and hopefully get another three points in front of our home fans. We’ll make sure we prepare right and we’ll be looking to get another win.”
