United’s director of football David Holdsworth this morning confirmed that he is still in talks with Rotherham United about the potential extension of a loan deal for forward Jerry Yates, who has become a crowd favourite with United fans since joining the club back in July.
The 22-year-old has bagged seven goals in 29 appearances for the Blues – six of which have been netted in his last eight outings – and his recent switch to his preferred striking role has seen him lead the line expertly as the team has gone on a run of four consecutive and impressive victories.
“We’re still hopeful that Rotherham United will allow Jerry to continue his stay with us,” he said. “We’ve agreed all of the financial arrangements and we know that the player is loving his time at Brunton Park.
“We value our excellent relationship with Rotherham and hope that they will allow Jerry to continue his progression under our guidance.”
