BRING A TIN: Club and CUOSC work together on foodbank collection campaign

Christmas should be a time for family and friends, yet for many people it can be one of the hardest periods of the year.

Working together with CUOSC, our ‘Bring a Tin’ campaign is a way for the club and our fans to help to make things better for some of the more disadvantaged people in our community.

United fans have been extremely generous with previous foodbank collections and we hope, at this special time of year, that we will see the same response again. Every single donation, no matter how big or small, matters and can make a massive difference at a time when it’s needed most.

Supporters and members of the local community are being asked to bring along any spare tins of food, or dried food items, to help us towards the target of creating three days' worth of emergency winter food reserves.

Donations will be collected at the Study Centre next to the Bluestore at Brunton Park and be passed on to Carlisle Foodbank https://www.carlislefoodbank.org.uk/ and will go directly back to the community – helping those who need it the most.

Items will be collected at the CUOSC Surgery held at the Study Centre [adjacent to the Blues Store] on Saturday 15 December from 1.30pm to 2.45pm, ahead of United’s game against Colchester United.

Items most welcome include:

  • Milk (UHT or powdered)
  • Small Sugar (500g)
  • Long Life Fruit Juice (carton)
  • Packet Soup
  • Pasta Sauces (tin, jar or packet)
  • Sponge Pudding (tinned)
