United’s director of football David Holdsworth has confirmed that striker Richie Bennett and midfielder Mike Jones have both expressed a desire to seek to get pitch time elsewhere should the opportunity arise to do so during the January transfer window.
Speaking this morning, he said: “Both players have expressed a wish to try to get game time elsewhere, which we completely understand.
“If anything suitable comes along for them, and it works for the club and for the individuals, we will look to help them as much as we can.
“As ever, the club is paramount, and we will always put the needs of Carlisle United first. However, we will always look at each and every individual case on its own merit, because we want players who are fully committed to the club, and we will help wherever we can.”
