The Blues have today signed free agent Luke O’Reilly on a half-season contract which keeps him at Brunton Park until January 2019.
The 22-year-old keeper came through the Nike Academy as a youngster before being snapped up by Cardiff City where he became a regular feature in their under-18 squad.
He played three games whilst on-loan with Redditch during the second half of the 2016/17 season and was signed by Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur in September 2017 where he slotted in to the development squad.
The summer of 2017 had seen him invited along to the England training camp, having caught the eye of the national team’s keeper coach Martyn Margetson when the pair were at Cardiff together. Having attracted Premier League interest he trained with Joe Hart, Jack Butland, Tom Heaton and Fraser Forster through a week of intense sessions.
Released by Spurs this summer, he comes looking to take his stay up north beyond the January window.
Luke O'Reilly will wear squad number 19.
This signing remains subject to the clearance of all relevant paperwork.
