United were at Port Vale for their rearranged away fixture on Wednesday afternoon and a stubborn performance earned the lads a vital three points.
It was nip and tuck as the young Blues were pegged back just after Max Cowburn had given them the lead.
Josh Dixon restored the one-goal advantage, but the Valiants worked hard to get back to level pegging for a second time.
United weren't to be outdone though and it took just 60 seconds for them to get back in front courtesy of a nice finish from Sam Adewusi.
And that was that as the away team closed ranks to see their victory over the line.
Youth boss Darren Edmondson said: "It was a good performance from the lads. They took the setbacks of having their lead taken away twice and the response to that was excellent.
"Scoring our third a minute after they'd got their second goal was a big moment in the game. I'm delighted for them because they do work hard and they haven't always been getting the results to match the performances.
"They got the result they worked for today and they can be pleased with that."
