Goalkeeper Morgan Bacon has today joined Northern Premier side Shaw Lane FC on a one-month loan deal.

Bacon, 19 last week, came through the United ranks to earn a one-year professional development contract in May this year.

He's previously spent time out on loan at Penrith and goes into the squad for the table-toppers as they travel to face Lancaster City on Saturday afternoon.

Manager Keith Curle said: "Part of Morgan's development is that he needs game time and we're hoping this move will bring that for him.

"He's working hard but there's nothing better than being in a competitive environment, where results matter, to help you to really start to push on.

"The move will be of benefit to all parties and we'll be able to monitor his progress as he goes through the month.

"Shaw Lane are competing at the top of their league so there'll be a good level of demands placed on him. It's one we hope he will really get his teeh into."
