Carlisle United will be well represented at this season’s Northwest Football Awards ceremony with Nicky Adams nominated in the Player of the Year category and Jack Egan in the Rising Star of the Year category.
The Northwest Football awards was launched to celebrate the region’s brightest and best in the game and pays tribute to those who have achieved football excellence both on and off the field.
Adams has made a total of 56 appearances and scored three goals for the Blues since making his move to Brunton Park in the summer of 2016. Meanwhile Egan came through the youth ranks at the club to earn his first professional deal this season.
Speaking about the nomination, Adams said: “It’s always nice to be nominated for things like this but it only ever happens when you’re playing in a good team with good players around you.
“I’ve said all along that I’m really enjoying my football here and the gaffer has us playing a style of football which suits us all. When you’re happy in where you are and what you’re doing you tend to produce your best stuff.
“The manager has been brilliant with me and I can’t speak highly enough about the lads. It’s an unbelievable dressing room, one of the best I’ve ever been in, and I just hope we go on to get the success that everybody at this club deserves.”
