Carlisle United are out of the FA Youth Cup after two late goals saw them fall to defeat against Hartlepool United.
Connor Simpson stabbed home with only five minutes remaining to hand Hartlepool the initiative before Liam Pritchard added a second in injury time.
With a home tie against Liverpool guaranteed in the Third Round, both sides were keen to progress and signalled their attacking intent early on with some promising openings.
United winger Liam McCarron's cross caused problems, but Papa was unable to steer it home at the far post as the Blues saw plenty of the ball in the opening exchanges.
At the other end, Jon Weirs seized on a loose pass and drove forward before some good marshalling from Jay Kelly ensured his eventual shot was straight into the arms of Lee Ashton.
And Ashton was called into action again moments later when a fine cross-field ball picked out Pritchard in space, but his powerful effort was tipped around the post by the United stopper.
Simpson then saw a header held by Ashton before United's Max Cowburn saw a free-kick curl narrowly wide of the near post as the first half ended goalless.
There could have been an opener just one minute after the restart as Hartlepool struck the woodwork - Simpson's swerving strike being tipped onto the bar by the impressive Ashton.
Hartlepool continued to create the better openings with Cameron Holliday firing over following a well-worked move and Jacob Owen seeing a header graze the outside of the post.
The Blues were still creating chances though, and Belchior Papa saw an effort fly narrowly wide after he had broken forward as United enjoyed a spell of good pressure.
Pritchard then almost opened the scoring in fortuitous circumstances as Ashton palmed Holliday's cross onto his foot before the United stopper recovered to hold the ball on the line.
But Ashton would eventually be beaten with only five minutes remaining as Simpson reacted quickest to stab home from close range after Pritchard had knocked the ball into his path.
And the visitors would make it two in injury time as Pritchard seized upon a defensive mix-up to tap home into an empty net.
That was enough to end United's cup run for Darren Edmondson's side who now turn their attentions to Saturday's league visit of Blackpool.
