Impressive list of former players set to feature in big game
There’s a very special game taking place between old rivals at Brunton Park on Sunday [21 May, kick off 2.30pm] as a squad of United Legends take on a squad of Workington Legends in aid of the Motor Neuron Disease Association.
United and Workington favourite Tony Hopper was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of MND and the Cumbrian community, friends and former-team mates have since come together to raise money to help with research into the causes and potential cures for the disease.
Match Day Information:
+ The West Stand Ticket Office will be in operation on match day - opening at 1pm.
+ Supporters will be situated in the West Stand area of the stadium.
+ The Sunset Suite, Sporting Inn and Foxy's will be open from 1pm - full bar service. All bars will also be open after the game with the players in attendance.
Please note - car parking on site is restricted to those who have booked parking passes for the event. There will be NO general parking in the Main Car Park, or in the Supporters' Car Park. Fans are advised to seek alternative parking arrangements away from the stadium area.
Chairman Andrew Jenkins said: “We’d like to say a massive thank you to Ian Milburn, Derek Walsh and Colin Carter for the work they’ve done in pulling this together and for the list of former players they’ve managed to bring up for the game.
“It’s going to be a fantastic day and a wonderful occasion and, we feel, a fitting way to both raise awareness of MND and to show support for Tony and his family.”
