Carlisle United’s partnership with The Cumberland continues to go from strength-to-strength with confirmation that the hugely popular Community Ticket Scheme will be in operation for an eighth consecutive season.
The scheme, which sees over 300 free match tickets for every league game given to local community groups and schools, will again be supported by The Cumberland.
The local building society, recently named as having the happiest banking customers in the UK, will also once again be title sponsor of Brunton Park’s Cumberland Building Society Stand [A Stand] taking their association with the club to well over a decade of sponsorship and partnership schemes.
Sales and Marketing Director Phil King said: “Our relationship with The Cumberland is a fantastic example of how strong partnerships can work for the real benefit of all parties concerned.
“The Community Ticket Scheme is a huge success, with 76 organisations and 1,830 youngsters taking advantage of the opportunity to come and see us through the course of last season. Even more importantly it helps the club to grow and develop very close links with groups and schools, our fans of the future. We'd like to thank The Cumberland for the support they give us and we look forward to continuing our partnership for many more years to come.”
Andrew Gordon, Head of Sales at The Cumberland, said: “Our support and sponsorship of the club is important to us and it’s a relationship which we’ve forged and developed over a number of years.
“The sponsorship of the Community Stand goes hand-in-hand with the Community Ticket Scheme and helps us to achieve the aim of reaching out to and engaging with our local communities.
“We do a lot of work with schools as part of our own community activities and this is enhanced by teaming up with CUFC to provide this unique match day experience. The children get to meet first team players and Olga the mascot, and they also get to go pitch side and see behind the scenes. It really is an excellent, positive and exciting experience for everyone, with the emphasis on getting as much engagement and interaction as possible.”
Blues fans can also support the club when they open a Cumberland Blues savings account with The Cumberland. As well as offering a discount in the Blues Store and a free prize draw, which gives young savers the opportunity to be a mascot at future home games, The Cumberland will donate an amount equivalent to 1% of the total average balance held in all its Cumberland Blues accounts to Carlisle United each year. See below for details of how to open a Cumberland Blues Savings Account.
Tickets for Carlisle United home games continue to be available from the ticket hub at The Cumberland’s Fisher Street branch in Carlisle.
