Carlisle United or Gillingham will face Sheffield Wednesday at home in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The teams still have second round business to complete following Saturday's 1-1 draw at the Priestfield Stadium in Kent, so neither side will be counting any chickens just yet.

But with the replay likely to take place next Tuesday [12 Dec] the combatants will know what comes next for the victorious side.

Manager Keith Curle said: "Whatever had happened in this draw tonight, we all knew at the club that the focus has to be on Newport County, first and foremost, and then on the job we have to do against Gillingham next Tuesday night.

"We've said on a number of occasions that we enjoy challenges, and coming up against teams from higher divisions will always give you that.

"We're fully aware that Gillingham will also have one eye on the third round, and a potential home tie against very good opposition, but we know that they will immediately put that to the back of their minds until after our game next Tuesday.

"Once that game is done, that's when the team who has won through will start the process of preparing for Sheffield Wednesday at home."
