Danny Grainger meets some fans of the future
Team captain Danny Grainger made a surprise visit to two young fans who renewed their Season Tickets for the 2017/18 season on Tuesday afternoon to say thank you very much for their support … and to get a bit of help with his post-Stevenage warm down.Massive United fan David Little, uncle to Joe and granda to Olivia Grace, was one of the first to renew for both himself and the youngsters for next season so we decided a back garden training session with one of their heroes was just the trick for our fans of the future.
“The children knew nothing about Danny coming and the look on Joe’s face when he recognised him was magnificent to see,” David said. “Joe never misses a game, and Olivia comes with us whenever she’s visiting with her parents, so this has been special for them.
“The Season Ticket prices for next season have made it easier for family groups to get to games and I think the club have done a really good thing. Hopefully they’ll hit their targets and even more people will take advantage of the cheap new rates.”
Danny spent half an hour with Joe and Olivia where he enjoyed a kick about and learned that he was one of Joe’s favourite players, along with Mark Gillespie and John O’Sullivan.
“John is really quick and he runs past people,” seven-year-old Joe said. “Mark doesn’t save penalties but he’s a really good goalie, and Danny can kick passes all the way up the line. I just love going to watch them.”
Danny will be out and about for another back garden training session next week – to be in with a chance of a surprise visit make sure you’ve purchased your 2017/18 Season Ticket by 5pm on Friday 21 April.
