Update from the club on Project Blue Yonder
Carlisle United Football Club can confirm its agreement with Caldew Riverside Developments Limited regarding land close to the centre of Carlisle as a potential new stadium site has expired. The agreement dates from April 2014 and was extended in October 2015 for a further year.
Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens said: “The developer’s plans were for a scheme on land to the South West of Viaduct Estate Road, between the river Caldew and the railway viaduct.
“The Club’s part in the scheme was reliant on a much bigger and wider development of the site. This has not come to fruition.
“As far as we are concerned, we will continue to monitor the situation but we are no longer party to any formal legal arrangement regarding this particular site.”
