Connor Hammell leaves United by mutual consent
Carlisle United can confirm that midfielder Connor Hammell has been recalled from his loan spell with Penrith and has left the club by mutual consent today.
Hammell, 19, came through the youth ranks at Brunton Park and earned a one-year professional deal last summer.
He made his first team debut in the home victory over Northampton Town in December 2015 and notched up a total of three appearances during the 2014/15 season.
Manager Keith Curle said: “Connor is a hard worker and we all wish him well as he moves on. He’s struggled to break into the first team reckoning with us and we’ve had a chat with him with a view to giving him time to work on his next step.
“He will be now able to look at the options available ahead of what will be a very busy period of players being released. A lot of players up and down the country will be faced with the same situation in just a few months time so this puts him in a position where he can be out there ahead of that happening.
“As I say, he goes with our very best wishes as he moves on from the club.”
