Club says a fond farewell to Robin Liddell
Carlisle United today say a very fond and sad farewell to club vice-president Robin Liddell who passed away on Sunday evening.
Mr Liddell, a former Financial Director with the Blues, was a long-term supporter and very close friend of many people at the club and was always on hand to offer an encouraging word or some excellent advice.
Chairman Andrew Jenkins said: “I have known Robin for many years and his passion for the club was never in doubt.
“We would often be at away venues like Plymouth or Exeter on Tuesday nights and he would walk in, having made his way to the stadium under his own steam.
“He was brought into the club by Jim Bendall and he was the first of the club’s directors to meet with Michael Knighton.
“Robin was one of life’s characters and I speak on behalf of everyone at Carlisle United Football Club when I say he will be deeply missed.”
The thoughts of everyone at the club are with his friends and family at this sad time.
