Rod Stewart earned even more respect from the people of Cumbria in February when he made a donation of £10,000 to assist with recovery from the Storm Desmond floods.Chairman Andrew Jenkins popped along pre-concert to say thank you, on behalf of us all, as the singer prepared for his show.
Mr Jenkins said: "I thanked Rod for the donation but he was quick to insist that it was the least he could do.
"He was more concerned that people were still working hard to get their lives back on track and he was just happy to be able to perform here.
"I made a small gesture in return by gifting him a hamper of items sourced locally. That included whiskey, gin and toffee vodka from a local distillery in West Cumbria and a selection of Cumberland Sausage, Rib Eye and T-Bone steaks and prime lamb cutlets.
"He was an absolute gentleman, very gracious and humble and a pleasure to meet."
Thank you to Mark Fuller for these images.
