Update from the Thursday afternoon friendly
The latest youth friendly was a very tight affair edged by two second half goals for the visitors in a game which could have gone either way.
Striker Max Brown hit the woodwork twice and Cameron Salkeld had two good efforts saved as United pushed for a goal, but the Queens took the lead on 67 minutes when Kieran Olson deflected a deep cross past his own keeper.
There was absolutely no luck about the second goal, however, as a 40-yard snapshot whisked over the stranded stopper and into the top corner.
Carlisle kept going but it wasn't to be their day as Queen of the South held their shape and kept the back door shut.
Reaction to follow.
