Result from the Saturday morning home game
United played well but lost out to two late goals against Port Vale on Saturday having held the lead for much of the game.A Carl Taylor free kick brought a horrible touch and own goal for a Valiant defender but tired legs took their toll as the away side - who kindly hosted the game at their venue - grabbed two goals at the death to take the points.
"There were a lot of positives to come out of this game," youth boss Alan Moore said. "We created chences and had some good possession but, in the end, the fact we hadn't played for over a month started to show through.
"Overall I'm pleased with what we did."
Next up - United v Wigan (to be played at Wigan), Tuesday 12 January, kick off 12pm.
