United midfielder in talks with SPL side
United manager Keith Curle confirmed today that midfielder Gary Dicker has been given permission to talk to SPL side Kilmarnock about a potential move north of the border.
Dicker, 29, joined the Cumbrians on a two-year deal in the summer of 2014 and has scored once in his 49 appearances for the Blues. That includes 26 appearances this season.
Manager Keith Curle said: “I’ve spoken to the Kilmarnock manager [Gary Locke] about Gary and we had a good conversation.
“I’ve now given the player permission to talk to them and we’ll see what comes of that.”
Irish-born Dicker started his career with UCD and was invited for a trial spell with Birmingham City during the League of Ireland close season in 2007. He signed for Stockport County that same year and joined League One Brighton two years later having made 68 appearances at the County Ground.
He went on to make over 150 appearances for the Seagulls and helped them to gain promotion to the Championship in season 2010/11 before spending part of the 2013/14 season on short-term contracts at Rochdale and Crawley.
