QPR midfielder Brandon Comley stays with United
Carlisle United have today extended QPR midfielder Brandon Comley’s loan spell at the club until 20 March 2016.
Islington-born Comley, 20, has made three appearances for the Blues since making the move up to Brunton Park in January and made his first senior start in the game in the FA Cup fourth round meeting with Everton.
Manager Keith Curle said: “He’s shown us exactly what we expected to see and he’s taken the opportunity he’s been given with both hands. He’s added something different to the squad and he’s enjoying his football.
“Last Saturday was another part of the learning curve for him and I know he’s the type of character who will be better from having had that happen. You never want to take the edge out of your game but it’s about how you implement it on the pitch.
“He likes a tackle, he likes to compete and he does a lot of work for the team. We’re pleased that he’s staying with us.”
Comley has been with the R’s since he was nine-years old and made his debut for the first team in the 5-1 defeat at Leicester at the end of last season.
He played against United in the Capital One Cup fixture at Loftus Road earlier this season and has scored twice in his 11 appearances for the U21 side in the current campaign.
He teamed up with the Cumbrians on trial in January and impressed during a trial game against Barrow where he played a part in the build-up for Angelo Balanta’s equaliser in an entertaining 1-1 draw.
