LOAN: Defender extends spell with Salford

Patrick Brough extends spell with Salford City

Defender Patrick Brough has today extended his stay with National League North side Salford City until 3 February 2017.

Brough, 20, initially joined Salford at the beginning of November and has featured in all of six of their fixtures since his arrival at Moor Lane.

Manager Keith Curle said: “There’s a spring in his step at the moment and that’s because he’s getting his pitch time. The reports we’ve had back have been very good and that's no surprise at all, because he's desperate to be playing football.

“They’re looking after him down there and he’s playing his part in some very competitive games. This gives him a chance to really establish himself and to get a lot of minutes under his belt, which will only ever stand him in good stead.”

The Silloth-born left back stepped up to the first team ranks at Brunton Park at the beginning of the 2013/14 season, as cover on the left flank, and has made a total of 49 appearances for the club so far.

The loan deal is subject to statutory recall procedures.
