Red card appeal turned down at afternoon hearing
Carlisle United Football Club can confirm that an appeal lodged today against the red card shown to Hallam Hope in the first half of Saturday's away game at Cambridge has been unsuccessful.Hope went into a challenge with Darnell Furlong on 23 minutes and was shown the card in the wake of what appeared to be a strong and fair tackle.
An FA panel considered the appeal this afternoon but have decided to uphold the decision made by match official Mr Ben Toner.
Hope will now serve a three-match suspension and will miss the Luton, Crawley and Oxford games.
