Result from the Saturday morning youth game
United took a first half lead through Jack Egan in their Saturday afternoon fixture against Port Vale but a freak goal, when the Cumbrians were well on top, shifted the balance of power in favour of the hosts and they eventually went on to claim all three points.
Youth boss Alan Moore said: "We played really well but we're going through one of those spells where if something can go wrong, it is.
"We deservedly took the lead but they equalised when a long kick from their keeper bounced high, over Morgan Bacon's head, and flew straight into the back of the net.
"It's one of those incidents that happens once in a blue moon and the positive is that we still got a good performance out of the team. That, as always, is the main thing from every game we go into."
