SKY BET: Ibehre up for August award

Jabo Ibehre in running for Sky Bet player of the month award

The August nominations for the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month Award are:

Barry Corr (Cambridge United) – striker
Injury restricted the Irishman to three games in August but five goals for his new club helped them to seven of their eight points. His intimidating presence sometimes overshadows the technique which pulled off a stunning volley at Wimbledon.

Dean Cox (Leyton Orient) - midfielder
The general behind Orient’s perfect record in August. Given a free all-action role at the tip of a midfield diamond, his energy and creative nous were evident in his four assists and a pinpoint free-kick against Dagenham & Redbridge, one of his two goals.

Jabo Ibehre (Carlisle United) – striker
Seven goals in five games (nine in all competitions) means that Cumbria has fallen in love with its new striker. Always in the right place in August, never more so than with the hat-trick he scored in the 4-4 draw against Cambridge United.

Aaron Pierre (Wycombe Wanderers) - central defender
An outstanding month as the fulcrum of a defence which kept four clean sheets in five games. He did so with four different partners at centre back. He was equally adept carrying the ball forward and scoring against Morecambe and Dagenham.

ALL WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON FRIDAY 4 SEPTEMBER 2015

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
