United face Preston in the FA Cup third round
United's progression to the third round of the FA Youth Cup has been nothing short of dramatic, with extra time needed in both fixtures so far against Tranmere Rovers and Doncaster Rovers.
Round three brings fellow North West Alliance outfit Preston North End to Cumbria for what will be another tight game.
"The lads are really enjoying their cup run and they're delighted that they're going to get another opportunity to play on the main pitch," youth boss Alan Moore said. "We know all about Preston but as we've already seem, it comes down to who handles it on the night.
"The really pleasing thing is that none of the lads have frozen, but we are going to demand more from them every time they go out between now and the end of the season.
