24 hours of hard work pays off
Met Office reports on Monday told us that 241mm of rain – half of the expected total for November – fell on Cumbria in just under 48 hours last weekend and a huge chunk of that, as you can see from the photos, made its way into Brunton Park.
Step in (or should we say step up) stadium manager Dave Mitchell and his team. They worked tirelessly through Sunday night and Monday to get the pitch cleared and, would you believe, such was the work done that Tuesday night’s FA Youth Cup fixture was able to go ahead as planned.
Amazing stuff. Thanks also goes to Geoff at WM Plant and Shaun from SLD Pumps at Kingstown. Their help and service was as prompt and efficient as ever and, without them, we simply wouldn’t have got the job done!
