Alexander McQueen receives one match friendly suspension
United new boy Alexander McQueen has received a one match ban for the red card he picked up in the second half of the thrilling friendly against Preston North End on Tuesday night.
McQueen came on for the second half of the game at Brunton Park but was given his marching orders just 22 minutes in to his home friendly debut following a high footed challenge with Ben Davies.
Current disciplinary procedures dictate that when a player is dismissed from the field of play for an offence in a friendly fixture they are to be suspended from the club’s next available friendly match, commencing with immediate effect.
McQueen will now miss the Oldham home game on Saturday but will be available for the behind closed doors fixture against Queen of the South on Tuesday and for the first away match of the 2015/16 season at Mansfield.
