Owls right back signs half season loan
Carlisle United Football Club can confirm that Sheffield Wednesday defender Matt Young has extended his loan spell until 2 May 2015, keeping him at Brunton Park until the end of the current campaign.
Young, 21, joined the Cumbrians ahead of the Cambridge home game this month and has made three appearances for the Blues so far.
Manager Keith Curle said: “Matt has come in and settled into the back four extremely well.
“His application to his profession is fantastic to see and that rubs off on those around him. His willingness to work has been replicated, and the more people you have in the dressing room who are like that, the better it becomes.
“He still has things to work on but he’s enjoying himself here and I know he’s looking forward to being part of the hard work to come.”
Young moved to Hillsborough on a one-year deal in June last year having spent three years at Southampton playing primarily in their Development Squad.
He began his career at Tottenham Hotspur before his move to St Mary’s at the age of 16, where he signed his first professional deal in May 2012.
